Athletic Club’s ‘gourmet eleven’ consists of a selection of the finest chefs in Bizkaia, backed by local agents such as the hospitality and catering college –Escuela Superior de Hostelería de Bizkaia– and the governing board for the local txakoli wine –Consejo Regulador de la DO Bizkaiko Txakolina.

Athletic Club wants to make the GUNE GASTRONOMIKOA of BIZKAIA -the haven of fine dining- in the San Mames VIP area- a place of culinary excellence. It seeks to attract and recognise chefs, organisations, institutions, producers and colleges that have managed to spread the word about Bizkaia’s cuisine throughout the world, thereby turning fine dining into a driver of the local tourist sector.
The Team
This project is spearheaded by the Athletic Club ‘gourmet eleven’: the Michelin-starred chefs Daniel García, Eneko Atxa, Fernando Canales, Josean Alija, Julen Baz, Jerónimo Peña and Vitalie Nofit, an outstanding local line-up that aims to turn San Mamés into a Cathedral of Fine Dining.
The service at the San Mames VIP area on matchdays is provided by renowned local restaurants with at least one Michelin star: Nerua Guggenheim Bilbao, Garena, Azurmendi (3*), Andra Mari, Eneko, Atelier Etxanobe, Zortziko and Boroa, the finest exponents of local cuisine.
