Cookies

Please note that the ATHLETIC CLUB website uses cookies. A cookie is a small piece of information stored on a user’s computer by a website. Cookies are used because websites do not have a memory. A user that goes from one website to another is not recognised as the same user. Cookies enable the website to recognise the user’s browser. Therefore, cookies are generally used to remember the options that a user has chosen (e.g., remembering the language that the user uses) or to recognise users that frequent the website.

Cookies can be “per session” or persistent. Per-session cookies make it possible to identify a user during a live session, which means that cookies are stored and are only valid for the duration of an active session, i.e. during your visit to the website. These cookies do not permanently record any information on the hard drive of your computer and expire at the end of the session.

Our website uses 3 types of cookies:

  • Technical cookies: We use technical cookies to show our website, make sure that it works correctly, create your user account, start your session and manage your bookings. These technical cookies are necessary for our website to operate correctly.
  • Functional cookies: We also use functional cookies to remember your preferences, to help you use our website efficiently and effectively and to remember your favourite language, currency searches and the establishments you have visited. These functional cookies are not required for the operation of our website but they add functionality to it to improve the user experience.
  • We use analytical cookies to understand how our users use the website, to detect what works and what does not, to optimise and improve the website and to make sure that our users consider to find our website interesting and relevant. The information we collect includes the web pages visited, referring/exit pages, platform type, information about time/date and data such as the number of mouse clicks on a given page, mouse movements, scrolling, words used in searches and text that you write when you use our website. This information is anonymous and we only need it for statistical purposes.

In general, cookies only collect certain information from the user on the website (i.e. the user’s Internet web browser type, operating system and IP address from which our website is accessed to facilitate navigation on our website).

In general, the cookies that we use are only associated to an anonymous user and their computer and do not provide references that make it possible to work out the name and surnames of the user. With regard to online purchase processes in particular, the data entered by the user during the purchase process will be linked to their session ID for bank reconciliation purposes and accrediting the contract.
